At Gold Coast Christian College, we believe that supporting the spiritual and emotional well-being of our students is of utmost importance. Our Chaplaincy program serves as a cornerstone in providing guidance, care, and support to students, parents, and staff. Whether students are facing personal challenges, grappling with faith-related questions, or simply seeking someone to talk to, our Chaplain is there to provide a safe and supportive environment.
Our Chaplain works closely with students, parents, and staff, fostering a sense of belonging and connectedness within our school community. In addition to one-on-one interactions, our Chaplain also organises and facilitates activities and programs that promote spiritual growth, character development, and a sense of community. These initiatives include Chapel programs, Bible studies, and community service projects. Through these activities, students have the opportunity to deepen their faith, develop valuable life skills, and build meaningful relationships with their peers.
Chapel Programs
At Gold Coast Christian College, we offer weekly Chapel sessions for both primary and secondary students. These sessions include singing, activities, and a spiritual message based on various themes throughout the year. The primary purpose of our Chapel program is to strengthen students' individual faith journey with Jesus. Parents are always welcome to attend and be a part of these sessions.
Week of Worship (WOW)
One of the highlights of our Chapel programs is the Week of Worship (WOW), a much-loved event where primary and secondary students participate in daily chapel services throughout a week. Each aspect of the program is tied to a specific theme, and we invite guest speakers who challenge students to take the next step in their faith with Jesus Christ. Parents are also invited to join us during this special week. After the Week of Worship, students have the opportunity to engage in Bible studies to further enhance their spiritual development. Prior to the commencement of these studies, a letter is sent home to request parental permission.
IMPACT
IMPACT is a Friday night program held each term for our Secondary students. The program varies throughout the year and includes worship, interactive activities, guest speakers, and food.
StormCo
We offer our senior students the opportunity to participate in STORMCo (Service To Others Really Matters). This week-long adventure in service takes place in Texas, Queensland, where students engage in community projects such as garden makeovers, maintenance work, and children's activities. It is an incredible opportunity for students to create lasting memories and friendships while making a positive impact on others. STORMCo is an initiative that spans across Australia.
Our College Chaplain is available to provide support and pastoral care to students, parents, and staff. The Chaplain can assist in times of hardship and also refer individuals to appropriate services when needed.
